3D Numerical Analysis Method for Simulating Collapse Behavior of RC Structures by Hybrid FEM/DEM

چکیده
Recent years have seen an increase in demand for the demolition of obsolete and potentially hazardous structures, including reinforced concrete (RC) using blasting techniques. However, because risk failure is significantly higher when applying to demolish RC structures than mechanical dismantling, it critical achieve optimal design conditions by taking into account major factors affecting a structure’s demolition. To this end, numerical analysis techniques frequently been used simulate progressive resulting collapse structures. In study, three-dimensional (3D) combined finite discrete element method (FDEM), which accelerated parallel computation technique incorporating general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPGPU), was coupled with one-dimensional (1D) reinforcing bar (rebar) model as simulation tool simulating process structure blasting. Three-point bending tests on beams were simulated validate developed 3D FDEM code, calibration input parameters fracture beam accurately. The effect elements size part beam’s also discussed. Then, code small-scale structure. results compared actual experimental found be highly consistent.

Simulating energy method for grout-induced crack analysis of rock structures at Chadormalu mine by extended finite element method
Fracture mechanics is a vital component involved in studying the exact behavior of rock materials. Detection and assessment of the behavior of rock joints injected by grout plays an important role in numerical modelling in rock mechanic projects. The importance of mechanisms associated with initiation and propagation of cracks due to hydraulic fracturing has led to a considerable interest in in...
متن کاملCOLLAPSE ANALYSIS BY ENDURANCE TIME METHOD
Estimation of collapse performance is primarily conducted through Collapse Fragility Curves (CFC’s). The EDP-based approach is the main scheme for attaining such curves and employs IDA. Obtaining CFC’s from IDA results is tremendously time consuming and computationally demanding. Introduction of more efficient methods of seismic analysis, can potentially improve this issue. The Endurance Time (...
متن کاملPROGRESSIVE COLLAPSE ANALYSIS OF RCC STRUCTURES
The study aims to investigate the progressive collapse behaviour of RCC building under extreme loading events such as gas explosion in kitchen, terroristic attack, vehicular collisions and accidental overloads. The behavioural changes have been investigated and node displacements are computed when the building is subjected to sudden collapse of the load beari...
متن کاملEffect of Structural Height on the Location of Key Element in Progressive Collapse of RC Structures
After the failure of an element in a structure, its loads should be redistributed on the other elements and the structure must provide some new paths to carry the load. If such new load paths are not provided, collapse progression will begin in the structure. As the beginning of progressive collapse in a structure is more sensitive to the missing of an element, the location of that element is m...

this paper presents the results of analytical studies concerning the flexuralstrengthening of reinforced concrete beams by external bonding of high-strength lightweightcarbon fiber reinforced plastic (cfrp) plates to tension face of the beam. three groups of beamswere tested analytically and compared with existing experimental results. results of the numericalanalyses showed that, although addi...
